Friday 22nd May

This term has once again been filled with enthusiasm, achievement, and memorable experiences across the school. Our children have continued to work incredibly hard in their lessons and should be very proud of all they have accomplished. It has been wonderful to see their confidence, resilience, and positive attitudes grow over the school year.

We have also enjoyed some fantastic educational visits this term. Year 2 had a successful and exciting trip to Rockingham Castle, where the children thoroughly enjoyed bringing their learning to life through hands-on experiences and historical exploration. Our EYFS children had a wonderful time visiting West Lodge Farm Park, where they learned more about animals and life on the farm while creating many happy memories together.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank all parents and carers who attended the parent workshops held in school this term. Your continued support and partnership make a tremendous difference to the children’s learning and development, and we greatly appreciate the time you take to work alongside us.

As always, thank you for your ongoing support of our school community.

Big Sing

On Wednesday our Year 2 children took part in the annual Big Sing, joining schools from across Northamptonshire for a wonderful massed choir performance organised by the Northamptonshire Music and Performing Arts Trust.

This year’s musical celebration was inspired by the 200th anniversary of the Zoological Society of London and featured special performances from the NMPAT County Choirs. The children sang with great enthusiasm, confidence, and joy, making it a truly unforgettable experience for everyone involved.

We are incredibly proud of how they represented our school and grateful for the fantastic opportunities NMPAT provides to nurture young musical talent across Northamptonshire and Rutland.

EYFS Parent Workshop

We loved welcoming our EYFS parents into school for our planting workshop this week. The children were so excited to have their grown-ups join them in the classroom and really enjoyed getting stuck in with planting seeds together.

There was plenty of messy fun with soil, lots of chatting and teamwork! It was lovely to see the children so proud of their planting and sharing their learning with their families. We are looking forward to seeing how their sunflowers grow over the next few weeks.

Summer Fair

We are very excited for our Summer Fair on Friday 3rd July and would love your support to help make it a fantastic event for everyone! We will be holding a mufti day ahead of the fair, where children are invited to bring in a bottle donation for our popular Bottle Tombola. We welcome all bottles from shampoo to alcohol.

On the day of the fair, we would also greatly appreciate any cake donations for our cake stall – homemade or shop bought are both very welcome.

If you are able to volunteer some time to help at the fair, or if you can donate any raffle prizes, we would be so grateful for your support. Thank you for helping us make this year’s Summer Fair a fun and successful event for our school community!

Mrs Curran

As Mrs Curran begins her maternity leave, we would like to wish her and her family all the very best as they prepare to welcome their baby.

We hope she enjoys this very special and exciting time, and we know she will be a wonderful mother. Everyone at school will miss her, and we look forward to hearing her happy news in the weeks ahead.

Healthy Lunches

A great lunchbox can include tasty foods from different food groups to keep brains and bodies strong. Try adding a sandwich, wrap, or pasta salad, along with some crunchy vegetables, fresh fruit, and a healthy snack.

Some fun ideas include carrot sticks, cucumber slices, cheese cubes, yoghurt, bananas, apples, or homemade muffins. Water is the best drink to help children stay refreshed and ready for learning. A colourful lunchbox is often a healthy one — the more colours, the better!
