What a busy term this one has been!

This term, our Reception children delighted families with their Nativity performance, showcasing their confidence, enthusiasm, and wonderful teamwork. It was a pleasure to welcome parents and carers into the church to share this special event. We also enjoyed a festive Christmas Decoration Day, where parents joined their children in the classroom to create beautiful decorations. It was clear to see that the children loved working alongside their families.

Unfortunately, due to the weather, our Key Stage One children were not able to perform their Christmas carols performance on the playground. Instead, the children sang together in the hall with huge smiles and great enthusiasm, filling the school with festive cheer and getting everyone into the Christmas spirit. It was wonderful to see their confidence shine as they performed so proudly. We will be sending out a video of the performance for you to enjoy soon.

Parents and carers have also showed fantastic support by contributing to and visiting our cake stall, helping to raise funds and create a wonderful community atmosphere. A big thank you as well to the PTA for organising the Jack and the Beanstalk pantomime, which the children thoroughly enjoyed, and for supporting our Christmas movie experience, which the children loved to share together.

Alongside these events, we have carried out Reading sessions and class workshops for parents. These sessions gave families the opportunity to find out more about how reading is taught in school and how their child learns in the classroom, as well as sharing ideas on how learning can be supported at home.

Thank you to all parents, carers, and the PTA for your continued support and for helping to make this term a success.

Attendance

Attendance is monitored on a weekly basis. Although it has only been one term, even short periods of absence can have a significant impact on overall attendance.

From this week and into the spring term, we will be holding attendance meetings with families where attendance is becoming a concern. If you have received a letter, please contact the school office to arrange a meeting with Ms Pearce, our Family Support Worker. These meetings will help us to better understand individual family circumstances and explore how the school, and external services where appropriate, can work in partnership with families to support improved attendance.

Reporting Absences

It is essential that you inform the school if your child is going to be absent. This can be done either by telephone, e-mail or via a Dojo message. If we do not receive notification of an absence, a home visit will be carried out in line with our safeguarding procedures.

Sickness

Please be reminded that if your child has experienced any sickness or diarrhoea, they must remain at home for 48 hours after their last symptom. This policy helps prevent the spread of infection and keeps our school community healthy. If your child is unwell, please contact the school each morning to report their absence and share any updates.

Jack and the Giant Beanstalk

Our school was full of laughter and excitement recently as we were treated to a brilliant pantomime performance of Jack and the Giant Beanstalk! With plenty of laughs, catchy songs, the show had everyone joining in and having a great time. A huge thank you to our PTA for making this magical experience possible.

Reception Christmas Decoration Afternoon

Reception children took part in a Christmas Decoration Afternoon with their family members. The classroom was busy with cutting, colouring and sticking as children worked together with adults to create Christmas decorations and cards. It was an enjoyable afternoon of creativity and shared time in the classroom.

Visit from Santa

Our school was filled with excitement as Santa paid us a special visit. Everyone joined together to sing Christmas songs and eagerly asked Santa important questions such as “Am I on the good list?” and “What are all your reindeers’ names?”

Nativity

We are incredibly proud of our Reception children for their wonderful Nativity performance. They showed so much confidence and enthusiasm.  A huge thank you to the Reception teachers and staff for their dedication, and to Carey Baptist Church for warmly welcoming us. It was a special occasion enjoyed by all.
