Friday 14th November

We hope everyone enjoyed a pleasant half-term break and has settled smoothly back into the school routine.

The days are feeling very autumnal now, with darker evenings as we move further into the Autumn Term. Please take extra care when travelling to and from school, and remember the motto Be Bright, Be Seen — wearing reflective clothing is the safest choice when out and about.

Also, please ensure that children bring a coat each day, as the weather can change quickly throughout the day.

Attendance

The national expected attendance rate for schools is 95% or above.

Currently our school average is 95.7%.

Good attendance is really important for children’s learning and wellbeing. When children come to school every day, they build strong friendships, gain confidence, and make steady progress in their lessons.

We’d like to say a big thank you to all our parents and carers for supporting good attendance and punctuality. Let’s keep up the great work next term and aim even higher together!

Reporting Absences

It is essential that you inform the school if your child is going to be absent. This can be done either by telephone, e-mail or via a Dojo message. If we do not receive notification of an absence, a home visit will be carried out in line with our safeguarding procedures.

Sickness

Please be reminded that if your child has experienced any sickness or diarrhoea, they must remain at home for 48 hours after their last symptom. This policy helps prevent the spread of infection and keeps our school community healthy. If your child is unwell, please contact the school each morning to report their absence and share any updates.

Halloween Party

Our PTA Halloween Party was a fantastic evening filled with fun, laughter, and plenty of dancing! A huge thank you to all the students, parents, and staff who attended, and an extra special thank you to everyone who volunteered to make the night so memorable.

Congratulations to our prize winners: Best Dancer and our two Best Dressed participants—you all looked amazing!

We’re already looking forward to our K-POP Demon Hunter Movie Night next week! Stay tuned for more fun and community celebrations.

Remembrance Day

Our school community came together for a two-minute silence to mark Remembrance Day. Students and staff paused to reflect on the courage and sacrifices of those who have served, remembering the impact of their bravery on the world we live in today.

Our school gates are adorned with beautiful displays created by students as a visible tribute to those who gave so much.

Year 3 Admissions Process

A friendly reminder for our Year 2 families — children do not automatically move on to Kettering Park Junior Academy, so you’ll need to apply online through North Northamptonshire Council to secure your child’s place.

You can apply here: www.northnorthants.gov.uk/primary-school-places.

Please make sure to complete your application before January 15th so you don’t miss out on your preferred school.

Parents Evening

If you were unable to attend your Parents’ Evening appointment, please contact your child’s class teacher on Dojo to arrange an alternative time that is convenient for you. A telephone consultation can also be provided if that would be more suitable.

Outdoor Reception Area

We kindly remind parents and carers that children should not climb on the equipment in the Reception outdoor area before or after school. Some of the equipment has already been damaged, and avoiding this helps keep everyone safe while ensuring the area is ready for learning. Thank you for helping us maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all pupils.

Reading at Home

We’re encouraging all our students to read more at home! Spending a few minutes each day reading with your child makes a huge difference in their learning and confidence.

Please remember to fill in your child’s reading record every time you read together. Each week, we’ll count up all the reading entries, and the class with the most reads at the end of the term will win a special treat!

Social Media

As a school, we are working hard to improve and modernise our communication through social media.

We invite you to follow our Facebook and Instagram pages and share them with family and friends to stay up to date with school events, celebrations, and classroom highlights.
