Here we are at the end of our last full week of term! The children are now well settled into their new classes, getting to know their teachers and forming new friendships.
Each week, we take time to celebrate the achievements of our children in various ways. During Monday assemblies, we recognise class attendance with our Attendance All Stars awards. Holly and Hazel Classes have been particularly successful with their attendance this term – well done to both!
In our Friday Celebration Assembly, two children from each class are selected to receive a Star of the Week award and a School Values award. It has been wonderful to see the wide range of reasons children are being recognised – from working independently and being positive role models, to producing fantastic writing or maths work. The children are certainly making it difficult for teachers to choose each week!
Keep up the great work, everyone, as we head into the next term!

Attendance
The national expected attendance rate for schools is 95% or above, and we’re delighted to share that this term our school achieved an average attendance of 95.9%.
Good attendance is really important for children’s learning and wellbeing. When children come to school every day, they build strong friendships, gain confidence, and make steady progress in their lessons.
We’d like to say a big thank you to all our parents and carers for supporting good attendance and punctuality. Let’s keep up the great work next term and aim even higher together!

Reporting Absences
It is essential that you inform the school if your child is going to be absent. This can be done either by telephone, e-mail or via a Dojo message. If we do not receive notification of an absence, a home visit will be carried out in line with our safeguarding procedures.

Harvest Festival
Thank You for Supporting Our Harvest Festival.
A heartfelt thank you to all our parents and carers for your generosity and support during our Harvest Festival. We were delighted to welcome Reverend Helen Wakefield Carr, who led a wonderful whole-school assembly on the theme of spreading kindness and support.
Your kind donations of food items will make a real difference to local families in need, and we are so grateful for the caring spirit shown by our school community.

IRock
This term we were delighted to have visit from James at iRock. He delivered an energetic and inspiring assembly demonstrating the joy of making music as part of a band. The whole school thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and several pupils had the exciting opportunity to perform in front of their peers.
We are very pleased to share that iRock music classes will begin on 6th November, and we look forward to seeing our pupils develop their musical skills and confidence. If your child is interested in joining an iRock band, please contact the school office for further information.

A huge well done to everyone who entered this year’s Pumpkin Carving Contest! All the pumpkins looked absolutely amazing — such creativity and effort from everyone. Our pupils loved looking at them displayed in the hall and admiring all the different designs. Thank you to all who took part and helped make this a fun and festive event,

Please make sure to complete your application before January 15th so you don’t miss out on your preferred school.

Backpacks and Bookbags
We kindly encourage all children to bring a bookbag to school rather than a backpack. Some backpacks can be quite large and take up a lot of space. Bookbags are more practical and offer better support for the reading books that come home each day.
Please also ensure that water bottles are not placed inside your child’s bag, to help prevent any leaks that might damage the books. Unfortunately, we will need to charge for any books that are returned damaged.
Thank you for your support and understanding.

Coats in School
As the weather turns colder, please ensure that all children bring a coat to school each day. It’s also important to make sure that coats are clearly named, so they can be easily returned if misplaced.

Safe Parking
We kindly remind all parents and carers to park safely and considerately when dropping off or collecting children. For the safety of all pupils, please do not stop or drop children off on the zebra crossing, and avoid parking on the zigzag lines outside the school.
Parking responsibly helps ensure clear visibility for drivers and pedestrians, prevents accidents, and keeps our school entrance safe for everyone.
|
Use of Reception Equipment
Please ensure that children do not climb on the Reception playground equipment before or after school. Some of the equipment has been damaged. We appreciate your support in keeping our playground safe and in good condition for all children.
