Our Curriculum
At Kettering Park Infant Academy, we want every child to develop a love of learning, along with the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to thrive.
Our curriculum is carefully designed around our vision and strapline: where learners grow. We believe children learn best when they feel safe, valued, curious and supported, so we create a curriculum that is purposeful, engaging and builds carefully on what children already know.
As an infant school, we place particular importance on developing strong foundations in early reading, writing, mathematics, communication and independence, while giving children a broad range of experiences that inspire curiosity and help them discover their interests.

Our four school values are at the heart of our curriculum:

These values are part of everyday life at Kettering Park Infant Academy. They help our children to grow not only as learners, but also as kind, confident and responsible individuals.
Building strong foundations
In Reception, our curriculum is rooted in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Children learn through a carefully balanced mix of purposeful play, exploration, adult-led teaching and rich interactions. We develop the foundations for learning across all areas of the EYFS, with a particular focus on communication and language, early reading, writing, mathematics, physical development and personal, social and emotional development.
As children move into Year 1 and Year 2, their learning builds progressively on these strong foundations. We carefully select the knowledge, and vocabulary children need to learn, remember and use, making meaningful connections between new learning and what they already know.
Our aim is for every child to leave Kettering Park Infant Academy confident, curious and ready for their next stage of learning.
